GARDENING

Since our return from England we've been working non-stop on the garden.

At the end of a day's work I like to sit and draw the view from the patio.

This my favourite view especially in the spring when the azaleas, mexican orange blossom and the pieris are at their best.

We've been getting the garden ready for our departure to Provence so that we don't have quite so much work when we return!

THE END OF THE TRIP

The last few sketches from the English trip concentrate on the detail rather than the vistas.  This twig is from one of the trees next to  our pitch at the campsite.  I don't know what it is so if anyone recognises it perhaps you could let me know?

I took a walk through the woods one afternoon and came back with a bunch of wild flowers to draw.  I have missed out a few as they were just out of reach or surrounded with nettles!

Another handful from the sunnier spots at the edge of the woods.

And finally a sketch I did in white pen and coloured pencil at Vann, a garden open for charity.  Justine and I visited on the last Sunday and had a lovely time there exploring the formal and woodland gardens.  This sketch reminds me of a lovely relaxed morning sitting in the sun chatting and drawing.
